The Great and Powerful....Katie Andelman

The past winter I had the opportunity to attend an editing webinar hosted by the incredible Katie Andelman. If you don't know who Katie Andelman is well- you probably do. Her work has been all over social media and with good reason. Katie's images are the kind that stick with you- they have a magic that leaves a trace and makes people stop, and look. The kind of images I hope to achieve. Katie is one of the top child photographer's in existence. Needless to say, I jump at any opportunity to learn from her!

During the webinar I became acquainted with the lovely Melony Smith of Melony Smith Photography in South Africa (yes, Katie's reach is that far!) After learning so much from the webinar Melony and I decided to move forward with an in person mentorship session with Katie. Best. Decision. Ever.

Katie chose to host the session in her (beautiful) home. Right upon arriving I met Katie and her wife Christine (who I was also privileged to learn from) as well as their fluffy critters! Katie is one of the most welcoming, genuine, and kind people I've ever met. She had so much knowledge to impart, and no questions were off limits. Getting a peek into her creative process was so incredible- if you're a photographer looking to learn from the best, I cannot recommend Katie enough! My work has grown so much from what I learned during my time with Katie.

Here are some images I captured from the incredible styled shoot Katie planned for us;

These are so elegant, I went back and looked multiple times and just got lost in the colors and the light, just beautiful.

How did I only see this now! Beautiful post and gorgeous pictures! It was such a pleasure to meet you and to spend a day with everyone. These will always be precious memories that I will cherish always. And I dream of the day that I can eat Chipotle again! (I think that is what it was called - lol)
