This season sort of snuck up on me this year. I mean really- how on earth is it Christmas already?!
This year the weather in Denver has been even more unpredictable than usual. This day we went out and it was COLD. Like if a raindrop fell it would be a snowflake cold. The next day of course it was 65 *sigh* So we only went out for about 10 minutes...my poor shivering girl was a champ though!
The good news is- when I decided to focus my photography primarily on kids, I did a little google research...and that whole 'don't go out in the cold because you'll get sick' thing? Myth. Yep. Who knew? Anyways- the point is, no adorable 3 year olds were harmed in the taking of these photos haha!
I only managed to get one shot without the big warm blanket around her- but her super cute dress is from Alice + Ames ; they have the CUTEST basic little dresses. Seriously I could put her in them every day, they're beautiful AND comfy so she can fully play in them and not gripe about something being scratchy. They tend to sell out quickly when they restock so you kind of have to keep a close eye on the site, but it's so worth it. She's actually wearing a size 4 here, and I had this same dress on a 5 1/2 year old little girl just days before- so they definitely offer a couple years of wear which is an added bonus!
Because I am the worst blogger *ever* these never really saw the light of day last year >_< Which is really a shame because my Christmas tree game was on POINT last year. I'm not sure I nailed it quite the same this year, but we also won't be home for Christmas, so I think I get a pass hehe.
Anyways- Christmas tree pictures with littles are just about the most fun ever. They're sparkly, they're covered in shiney breakable things, and they shelter mountains of presents. So yah- it's pretty easy to get kids to have fun around a Christmas tree haha.
In home Christmas tree sessions are something I offer every season starting the day after Thanksgiving, but I only offer a handful each year so I recommend getting in touch with me early if you want one of those spots!
Oh and is it just me, or are Hanna Andersson Christmas jammies just about the cutest thing on the planet?
So my favorite portrait work tends to slow down a bit when the temperature drops- I don't know if you know this, but kids get cold easily. Weird right?
Which means my poor toddler ends up in front my lens way more frequently. To be fair her cute little face is what made me step up my photography game in the first place, so she only has herself to blame!
These are from last year's holiday season and while we were only out for about 30 minutes this day (because I'm not a total slave driver) we still got a few fun shots!
Aw man you guys...I am the WORST!
So- when you have your own website it will tell me things about you. Things like, where you came from to find me (instagram, google, etc) and things like...what pages you click on when you get here.
And a lot of you are coming here. Which really to this point has been pretty sparse, and long outdated. Not good. My natural introversion seems to be stopping me from meeting some awesome kids.
SO. New Year's resolution 10 days early; I will actually put things here for people to see. You know...what's that word- oh right- blog. I will blog this year.
Also come check out my instagram feed @wonderstruckphoto
See you MUCH sooner than last time..really I swear
